Back home but missed Tim O'Reilly talking at work about technical publishing and open source. Ahh well, I emailed him through Orkut anyway.

The joys of the Trafford Centre at half term. Met up with Mandy, Claire, Holly and Amy to go shopping for bridesmaids' dresses. Was worth it though, they really did look very cute... With less than two months to go, let's hope they don't grow too much.

Headed up to Macclesfield to see Grandma & Grandad and took them out to the Ryles' Arms in Sutton for a meal. Service was a little slow and disorganised but the food itself was good.

Eugh, Valentine's Day. Kelly and Mark came up to Stockton for a weekend away. Whilst Mel and Kelly got their hair and makeup done, Mark helped fix my parents' kitchen cabinets :-)

After they got back from checking in to their hotel we had a lovely dinner, with plenty of wine :-)

My first code review in this department: didn't go badly, but was criticised for using language idioms on the basis it may be confusing at a later date. I agree that code shouldn't be confusing, but throwing away all chunks of a language (which make it more expressive than assembler) on the basis of a hard and fast rule with no wriggle room makes no sense.
