Got up to sort the house (once again it took longer to pack the two cars with the remaining items than expected; once again I blame mel ;-)) and headed off to our new house. Still not exchanged.

Got a phone call half way there from the removal men: they'd arrived at the new house and wanted to know where we were. Fibbed slightly but it wouldn't matter: still not exchanged.

I got to the new house at about 12:45. Today it seems they're tarmacing the road (oh, this could get fun). Talked to the removal men and went to the Sales Office. Apparently the tarmac contractors messed up. Still not exchanged.

Mel arrives half an hour later. Removal men getting grumpy; still not finished tarmacing; still not exchanged.

Decide to go to the pub around the corner to perhaps placate the removal men: it seems to work. Get a phone call to say we've now exchanged, but until we complete we can't have the keys. We can, however, have the house unlocked to start unpacking.

Even better, tarmacing's nearly finished and we arrive at the house to be given the keys after all: we've just completed (phew).

Once the van's unpacked we head out to Stockton for dinner ;-)

Well, we've got to move now: the house is packed and all our belongings (save for an airbed, duvet, pillows and kettle) are in a van in a compound in Basingstoke. Unfortunately, we've not yet exchanged - the plan is to do both exchange and completion tomorrow. Talk about cutting it fine (again)...

Well, things have fallen through now - there is no chain. Persimmon are going to change it to a part-ex although I imagine it'll be pushing it to get the paper work sorted before Thursday.

Met up with Mel after work and went to a private clinic in Harley Street. Heartbeat: OK; legs: 2 (ish); arms: 2 (ish); head: yup... and with these details confirmed in the viability scan we rang up the rest of the family to let them know what parents/brothers have known for a month or two:

Mel's pregnant!

Last episode of Doctor Who for over 6 months! Ay carumba! What a way to end though: a (planned) deus ex machina and pre-destination paradox worthy of Star Trek; TARDIS doing cool tricks; Cap'n Jack showing how good a companion he's been; etc. etc.

And a regeneration! Wasn't expecting that - thought it'd either not show it at all, or show him lying on the floor and making it more of a cliffhanger. Very pleasantly surprised, and you could almost see how could a Doctor David Tennant's going to be.

Got the train up to Rugby to have a "home demo" which largely consisted of being shown which knobs to twist to make water go hot. Went through our niggles list and are assured that it'll be sorted before we complete... in less than 2 weeks.

Got back to Basingstoke after spending the day in the park proper. Didn't do any rides (having exclusive use last night of a couple meant we didn't feel much like queueing) however did get my hat :-)

Even got home with enough time to watch Doctor Who: I thought the Big Brother bit would be naff - but they pulled it off and even made it good.

Start of the EuroDisney trip. First class on the Eurostar's quite impressive, although the food management could've been better. Hotel's nice (albeit it was very late when we got there, but it's very faux.
